Our journey commences early from Cusco, heading towards Tinki. Here, amidst the bustle of local life, we will savor a hearty breakfast to fuel our trek. We then press forward to Upis, where a tapestry of rolling hills and distant snow-capped peaks become our backdrop.
As we ascend, the air sharpens, signaling our climb into the Andean wilderness. Our first camp near the hot springs at Upis offers solace to weary limbs. Will invite us to a rejuvenating soak under the starlit sky.
With the dawn, we will stir for breakfast and set out towards the stunning Puca Ccocha. Today we face the Arapa Pass, challenging ourselves against altitudes that can both humble and inspire. Embrace the climb, the awe-inspiring view across the mountains and valleys of this Peruvian paradise. As evening draws near, we will set our camp by the shores of the turquoise Puca Ccocha, nestled at the foot of Ausangate.
After breakfast, our trail meanders from Puca Ccocha towards Chillca. We will navigate through a landscape that is constantly reshaping by glacial tongues and moraine walls.
The hike takes a dramatic turn as we skirt the edges of massive glaciers, with the grandeur of the mountains enveloping us. Reaching Yana Cocha will be our campsite for the nigh. The serenity of this secluded spot is palpable, as is the sense of accomplishment from the day’s traverse.
The final day awakens with anticipation. We will trek from Yana Cocha to the iconic Rainbow Mountain. This geological marvel is a synonymous with the Peruvian Andes.
Post marveling at the mountain’s vivid hues and capturing these moments, our descent to Quesiuno begins. This marks the end of our trekking as we board our transport back to Cusco. Our hearts will be full of the mountain’s majesty and cameras full of its beauty.
