We will begin our journey in Cusco, the ancient epicenter of the Inca Empire. As we depart from Cusco, the route winds through the scenic highlands towards Chinchero. Is at an impressive altitude where we will witness a stunning colonial church and sweeping views.
Next, we will steer towards Moray, renowned for its mesmerizing agricultural terraces carved like an amphitheater into the earth. Here, the Inca’s genius is undeniable, as they created micro-climates to cultivate a variety of crops. These concentric circles are a testament to the advanced Incan understanding of agronomy.
Our journey continues to the Salineras de Maras, where there are salt pans that are into the mountainside. It formed a patchwork of crystalline pools that have been since Inca times. We will navigate the edges of these pans, where salt joints by hand as it was centuries ago.
