As we travel, the cool highland air will give way to the balmy subtropical climate. By the end of our journey, we’ll be at 1,430 meters (4,692 feet), the altitude of Santa María.
Upon reaching Santa María, we will have the option to amplify our adventure with white-water rafting. We will shoot the rapids of the roaring Vilcanota River. As the sun dips, we will retreat to our accommodation, with visions of the journey so far dancing in our minds.
Morning in Santa Teresa begins with a taste of the wild as we set out on our hike. We’ll traverse lush jungle trails, listening to the symphony of chirping birds and the distant rush of water.
